Description: As generative AI tools rapidly evolve and become more integrated into legal practice, attorneys must understand both the opportunities and the ethical challenges these technologies present. This program provides an accessible overview of generative AI in the legal marketplace, covering current tools and platforms, practical use cases in both litigation and transactional work, and the implications of relying on AI for legal research, drafting, client interaction, and decision-making.
The session will also explore key areas of professional responsibility, including confidentiality, competence, unauthorized practice of law, and the duty to supervise technology and nonlawyer assistants. Attendees will come away with a clearer understanding of how to responsibly and effectively incorporate generative AI into their practice while maintaining compliance with ethical rules.
