Guest Speaker: Darcie McElwee, U. S. Attorney

Darcie has been the U.S. Attorney since October 2021. She presently serves as a member of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee (AGAC), and chairs both the Human Trafficking Working Group of the AGAC’s Civil Rights Subcommittee and the Juvenile Prosecution Subcommittee of the DAG’s Juvenile Violence Working Group.

Darcie previously worked as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Maine in the Portland office for 19 years where she primarily prosecuted violent crime, such as firearms cases involving domestic violence, arson, VAWA violations, sex trafficking, and child sexual exploitation. For over 15 years, Darcie coordinated Maine’s Project Safe Neighborhoods program. Before her federal career, Darcie served as an Assistant District Attorney in central Maine. Darcie is a native of Caribou in Aroostook County, and a graduate of Bowdoin College and the University of Maine School of Law.  She is a past president of the Cumberland Bar Association.

Lunch includes lasagna buffet, garlic bread, mixed baby green salad with balsamic dress, coffee and tea service.
