Although Maine has yet to enact a broadly applicable state consumer privacy law, a number of other states have (and more are coming), and your clients’ Maine businesses just might be subject to them. Some key points of discussion will include the laws’ applicability thresholds, tips for uplifting clients’ consumer-facing website privacy notices and complying with the laws’ operational requirements, and how the laws will be enforced.
