Unconscious Bias: How to Recognize and Interrupt
Unconscious biases are social stereotypes about groups of people that we all have whether it be age, race, religion or any of the protected groups. The goal of this session is to bring awareness to unconscious biases and to provide tools to adjust automatic patterns of thinking so that we can move to eliminate discriminatory behavior in the workplace and make overall better individual and business decisions. This training is interactive and will include hypothetical scenarios and voting by phone so that attendees can apply principles learned during the training and move towards a more diverse and inclusive workforce.
This session will cover: (1) the concepts of diversity and inclusion and the differences between the two; (2) the business case for diversity and inclusion; and (3) the methods for interrupting unconscious biases.
This program offers one hour of the new mandatory harassment and discrimination CLE credit. Zoom login details will be emailed to registrants one day before the program.
